"There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water:

Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink....

Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria?

for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water." John 4: 7, 9-10

In this beautiful parable of the New Testament, a woman who is cast out of her own society and despised by the Jews, learns the simple message of the healing that comes through Jesus Christ, a Jew.

I, too, have been blessed to experience the healing gift of God & have tasted of the "living water" that only comes as I follow Him & His teachings.

The woman at the well was at her very lowest when Jesus came to her. She believed there was no one like her. She believed that not a single person had experienced the trauma & hardship that she had. No one understood.

How many times have we come across someone in our own life who has felt the same way?

How often have we, ourselves, been down with similar thoughts?

Whether that be chronic illness, mental health struggles, familial hardships, guilt from poor decisions in

the past, etc., it is far too easy to develop the attitude that no one understands or has solutions.

Similarly, woman at the well assumed that what she had experienced in the past was what she would always experience.

However, as I have come to know through years of growth and study, there is ALWAYS an answer. It is sometimes sent through earthly angels, sometimes through Heavenly messages, scientific articles, etc.-

but it is ALWAYS there & ALWAYS readily available when we are ready to receive it with open arms.

We are never doomed to our past health challenges whether they be mental, physical, social, emotional, or more.

As followers of Christ, I believe we all have a responsibility to be able to spread that healing gift, no matter what that looks like. We are to be those earthly angels, inviting people to come to the well and leave saying "if thou knewest..."

"To the Well" is a place where people can come drink of the living water, to know Jesus,

to stand waiting for answers with open arms, to find healing,

to become "well."
